Although she appears to be in her early twenties, Faye Valentine is actually around 77 years old. She has been put into cryogenic freeze after a space shuttle accident, wherein she spent 54 years in suspended animation. She is brash, egotistical, and quite lazy, despite taking plenty of time to pamper and care for her own appearance.

Cowboy Bebop: Faye Valentine

A femme fatale with a persistent gambling addiction, Faye Valentine joined the Bebop uninvited to the consternation of Jet and Spike. Although she abandoned the ship several times, her attachment to the crew always brings her back one way or the other. She also pilots a generic, heavy spacecraft called “Red Tail” which is actually pale blue in color and has been heavily modified with armament and tracking sensors.
