Death Note: Mikami Teru

A criminal prosecutor who is a fanatical supporter of Kira, Mikami Teru became the 4th Kira as selected by Yagami Light. The decision was purely based on his intuition, because Light needed a new Kira proxy to hide his identity. Mikami’s sense of righteousness stems from his childhood, but his perspective has warped over the years and now firmly believes that evil must be destroyed.

Death Note: Ryuzaki L. Lawliet 04

L suspected earlier in the investigation that Yagami Light was Kira, but he could not obtain any concrete evidence. In several situations throughout the series, Light seems to be proven innocent by the circumstances, but L remained skeptical. If Light turned out to be Kira, then the case would have been solved, and L had trouble letting this simple and complete solution go. Moreover, he found Light to be “too perfect” and that his age and intelligence match his exact concept of what Kira would be like.

Well, I for one, was not too happy with how the series turned out and ended. But I have to admit, the story was brilliant overall. Thanks again to Garcia for sending this in!

Death Note: Yagami Light 04

According to Oba Tsugumi, the story writer of Death Note, Light sees Amane Misa, whom he uses as an accomplice, as a “bad person” and therefore acts cold towards her and manipulates her to the point of pretending to love her and even promising marriage to her. He did not kill her simply because of her shinigami, Rem, who threatened to kill him if Misa dies earlier than her time. Light was, however, able to manipulate Rem, who died extending Misa’s life by killing both Watari and L to save her.

Quite an impressive cosplay by Lawllipop-Bag! I don’t remember seeing those “wings” in the anime; I wonder if they’re Rem’s or something that Lawllipop-Bag came up with herself? Thanks to Billy for sending this in!

Death Note: Amane Misa 06

A famous and hyperactive singer, model, and actress, Amane Misa usually refers to herself in the third person by calling herself “Misa-Misa” to be cute. Despite her hyperactivity, she rarely allows her personal feelings about anyone interfere with Light’s plans, proving her undying devotion and loyalty to him. Like Light, she is corrupted by the power of possessing a Death Note, but she does not wish to become a god and doesn’t lose her original personality.

Pretty cute cosplay! The black nails really suit Misa’s character, but I’m not sure if we ever saw that in the original anime or manga. In any case, thanks again to Müberra for sending this in!

Death Note: Mihael Keehl aka Mello

An orphan who grew up with Near and Matt in Wammy's House, Mello was one of the candidates to become L’s successor. When it was decided that he should work together with Near in order to succeed L, however, he refused and decided to pursue the Kira Case on his own. Although Mello is quite intelligent, he has a tendency of letting his emotions get the better of him.

Death Note: Ryuk

Bored with the activities of the Shinigami Realm, Ryuk obtained a second Death Note and dropped it in the Human Realm in hopes of amusing himself. He deliberately wrote instructions on the front page so that people would understand its purpose. When Yagami Light stumbled upon the Death Note, Ryuk began following him around to see how Light intended to use it.
